नमस्कार  ,
राजस्थान के इतिहास में बारू जी बारहठ का नाम स्वामिभक्ति, निष्ठा और त्याग के अद्भुत उदाहरण के रूप में अमर है। 1364-1382 ईस्वी के दौरान, वे तत्कालीन महाराणा क्षेत्र सिंह जी के प्रिय कविराज, राजकवि और परम भक्त थे। उनकी काव्य प्रतिभा, दरबार में सम्मान, और सबसे बड़ी बात — उनका स्वामी के प्रति अविचल प्रेम, उन्हें अन्य दरबारियों से अलग करता था।

प्रसंग:
महाराणा क्षेत्र सिंह जी के विवाह में बूंदी नरेश महाराव लाल सिंह जी ने सभी बारातियों को उपहार दिए, लेकिन बारू जी ने विनम्रता से अस्वीकार कर दिया — उनका कहना था, “मेरे एक ही स्वामी हैं, जिनसे सब कुछ मिलता है।” यह बात बूंदी नरेश के मन में चुभ गई।

बाद में जब बारू जी और सेवक कल्याण, महाराणा के संदेश के साथ बूंदी दरबार पहुँचे, तो वहां यह पुराना विषय फिर से उछला। बारू जी की वही निष्ठा देखकर महाराव लाल सिंह जी ने व्यंग्य और अपमान में उन्हें कैद कर लिया।

पाँच-छह दिन बाद, बारू जी ने मिलने का अनुरोध कर कहा, “मैं आपकी भेंट स्वीकार करूँगा, पर मेरी तुच्छ भेंट भी आपको लेनी होगी।” अनुमति मिलने पर, उन्होंने अपने सिर का शीश काटकर सेवक कल्याण को दिया और महाराव को भेंट स्वरूप भेजा।

जब महाराव लाल सिंह जी के सामने वह शीश पहुँचा, वे स्तब्ध रह गए। उनके भीतर अहंकार चूर-चूर हो गया। उन्होंने कहा, “वाह, बारू जी! आपकी स्वामिभक्ति और निष्ठा ने जीत पाई, और मेरा झूठा अहंकार हार गया। क्षमा करें, सच्चे सपूत।”

यह कथा आज भी राजस्थान के लोकगीतों और कहानियों में गाई जाती है, और हर उस व्यक्ति को प्रेरित करती है, जो निष्ठा और त्याग का मूल्य समझना चाहता है।

Barahath’s Unshakable Devotion

In the glorious history of Rajasthan, the name Baroo Ji Barahath stands as an eternal symbol of loyalty, sacrifice, and honor. Between 1364-1382 CE, he was the beloved poet and devoted courtier of Maharana Kshetra Singh. His unmatched poetic talent, high respect in court, and, above all, his undying loyalty to his sovereign made him stand apart from all others.

The Story:
During Maharana Kshetra Singh’s wedding, when the royal procession visited Bundi, Maharav Lal Singh offered gifts to all guests. But Baroo Ji humbly declined, saying, “I have only one master, from whom I accept everything.” This deeply offended the proud Bundi ruler.

Later, when Baroo Ji and his fellow servant Kalyan came to Bundi with an official message, the old resentment resurfaced. Maharav Lal Singh mockingly reminded Baroo Ji of the past, ultimately leading to Baroo Ji and Kalyan’s imprisonment.

After several days, Baroo Ji requested an audience and agreed to accept the Bundi ruler’s gift — but only if the ruler would accept a small token from him as well. Once permitted, Baroo Ji went to his chamber, cut off his own head, and ordered Kalyan to present it as his humble gift.

When Kalyan laid the severed head before Maharav Lal Singh, the ruler was shocked speechless. His pride shattered, he whispered, “O Baroo Ji, your loyalty and devotion have triumphed, and my false ego has been defeated. Forgive me, noble soul.”

This legendary tale continues to echo in Rajasthan’s songs and stories, inspiring anyone who seeks to understand the true meaning of devotion, loyalty, and sacrifice.
